I am not a fan of buffets; they usually have tons of mass-produced food that is quite mediocre and I feel the pressure to gorge myself with it, so the aftermath is usually not very good. Unlike many of the buffets I’ve visited in my life, Jimmy’s is a big higher level food. They do use a heavy hand with the salt, but they do a rather surprisingly good job at cooking many different types of cuisine – from Thai(decent red curry aka panang) to Chinese potato balls that were awesome to tons of Indian choices. What they lack, however, are skills to deliver on good desserts – which are a bit necessary after indulging in all that salt! Aside from that, the price is also quite high. I know it’s a buffet – and for £9.99 at lunch, it’s not a bad deal. But, for £17.99 for dinner?! That’s pretty darn pricey. But, maybe it’s just me and my weak American dollar complaining, as the folks were there with their families enjoying the food without a concern(kids under 150 cm eat ½ price and kids under 90 cm eat free). And, in a quiet place like Staines, it did appear to be one of the few places to go. Bottom line: Good for a buffet and to get your ethnic cravings quenched all at once!
