Description

Specialties

Sheila Joynes is an accomplished musician, music teacher, performer, published composer and presenter of the video series «Sheila Joynes Teaches Music Theory». Sheila has been teaching Cello, Double Bass, Piano, Singing and Theory of Music for over thirty years.

She is skilled at bringing her students up to grade level and her pupils have enjoyed remarkable success in ABRSM musical grade examinations in which they have a 97% pass rate. However, taking examinations is not a requirement — far from it. Many pupils have no intention of taking the route to a musical qualification but play entirely for their own, and others’ enjoyment — an outlook Sheila heartily endorses.

As a practising musician, Sheila is Principal Cellist with the Chandos Symphony Orchestra, and can oftten be found playing piano, bass or cello around the county.

If you are looking for musical tuition for yourself or your children, a chat with Sheila costs nothing and it could be the best thing you’ve done.

Sheila J.

Business Owner

Sheila was Assistant Organist at Pershore Abbey for 9 years from 1994 until being offered the post of Director of Music at the Abbey in early 2003. She resigned this very time-consuming post in August of 2004 in order to concentrate on her teaching and performances.

Sheila’s spare time, what little there is of it, is spent (other than playing and listening to music) with family and friends or with a camera in her hand.

Sheila is also a member of Mensa.
