History
Established in 2012.
The Miners Lamp actually began in 1996 as a Pub — purposefully built for all the miners in the area but then took a change to being the Wheatsheaf Pub. From there, the Indian food concept began to rang in people’s ear and Lal Mirchi took over in 2005.
The Indian Palace (formerly The Indian Takeaway in 1995) was the beginning of our culinary venture in Haydock from 2005, and when the time was right, we took over and changed it back to The Miners Lamp.
We made many changes to the interior to make your dining experience casual but with a revamped menu, keeping the quality of food is the most important part to us.
Our kitchen took a whole new look when we came into play, brand new equipment to suit the needs of our recipes and the high standard of health and safety — we take pride in our food and service being safe and full of flavour!
Meet the Business Owner
Shofik R.
Business Owner
I started this work from as early as my school years (1989), working part-time in many restaurants from Indian Garden Leek (Staffordshire), to Wirral Tandoori (Brombrough, Wirral), Taste Of India (Birkenhead), Allerton Tandoori, Naz Tandoori, Ashiana (Preston) and now have planted my roots Merseyside with The Indian Palace.
Proudly was the Head Chef for The Indian Palace and then The Miners Lamp, now looking after both of the businesses to improve customer service since we already know how great the food is!
I look forward to meeting with you!
