We love this restaurant for its food, and ambience. Regularly changing menu. The only problem is that the fan over the kitchen area is so strong that you have to keep your coat on, as it can be quite chilly.

Being a local I was pleasantly surprised when this venue opened. A little ahead of its time like a previous reviewer mentioned but that’s definitely a good thing. I have faith that Sowerby Bridge is brushing off the cobwebs of the industrial era and prospering towards better things as it has a lot of potential and more people willing to stick their neck out for what they believe in. I have been here as a full blown carnivore(yes meat eater!) on a few occasions and have been overwhelmed by how good the taste, combinations and idea’s are. Good food is good food! Now I, and my wife, have turned to the sensical organic vegan diet, we now have to choose our dinning experience a little more carefully. This place was good before but is now a weekly ‘no excuses’ reason to dine out. Love it every time. The cost is always reasonable but the Wednesday night special is unbeatable!(WOW! YUM! Cheap!) A very select, monthly seasonal menu(limited on the Wednesday deal) is always interesting and shows just how good cooking can be. The service is always friendly and personal. Regardless of meat eating or dinosaur attitudes. If you live local and haven’t at least tried this local specialty for yourself then please, do yourself and the restaurant a favor and book a table x

Excellent little vegetarian restaurant in centre of Sowerby Bridge. I live locally and have cursed myself for not going here sooner. This was probably the 1st modern restaurant to open up in Sowerby Bridge that offered something very different to the rest and i think they were brave in doing this here. I would say they were probably a little ahead of there time but are well established now. Me & the wife ate here in the evening, relaxed atmosphere, great food and very good value for money. We both had a 3 course meal and bottle of wine for £50 Some may not like the small menu(around 4 or 5 choices per course) but i think its good to do a small menu very well rather than a large menu mediocre! Some may also be put of by the fact that it is vegetarian but thats just silly. I AMNOT A VEGGY but i also loved the food here!

Had lunch here yesterday from their brunch menu. This is a great little restaurant, tucked away near the river in Sowerby Bridge with great ambience and friendly staff. It outshines the area and gives hope that things are on the up for this Northern Milltown. The dishes are all vegan/vegetarian and range from huge seasonal dishes like aparagaus and new potato salad to baked plantains with spicy mango salsa. The puddings are great, really traditional and everything is prepared fresh in the open kitchen. The wine is organic too, but reasonable so a three course meal for two plus wine is just under £45 — splendid. Yorkshire Asparagus was done perfectly very tasty. 2 glasses of house red went down well — light and fruity Italian. Really liked the vibe here — the restaurant is really well laid out, tasteful pictures for sale on the walls. Readers of the Observer Food Monthly voted for this as their best vegetarian restaurant. Definatly worth a visit and I hope it survives.

Dandelion and Burdock is a completely vegetarian restaurant in Sowerby Bridge. Much of the menu is also suitable for vegans. Naturally, being a vegetarian, I love it, but my partner(who is an avid meat eater) also really enjoys it. The menu changes regularly and I am always spoilt for choice. The menu isn’t massive(maybe 4 –5 options if I remember right) so if you are going with a meat-eater I would recommend ringing first to check there’s something that appeals to them. The décor is very tasteful and welcoming and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Sadly it often seems rather quiet, maybe it is the Veggie status that puts people off, but it really shouldn’t. Try it, you’ll love it.
