The incredible actor Peter Sellers was born upstairs from the dining room, not that it should matter but it makes this place really cool anyway. I’ve been coming here over the last decade and have seen many changes. Currently it is in the best form yet. An authentic menu seems to be what filled the place with Chinese on this Sunday night. I ordered Wontons in hot chili oil hoping to get something similar to a Scechuan dish I recently tried in New York. The large bowl of wonton soup was hot and very hot, making me sweat around my eyes and I admit to shedding a few tears. Though more symbolically they were tears of gratitude to be so warmed up on a cold Portsmouth night. The pleasant waitperson brought me two big glasses of tap water and I was given a large bowl of shrimp chips to nibble whilst slurping my soup. I’ll be back real soon to try more dishes on the big new menu.

So you want your money back? We spoke no more Never tried restuarant only takeaway on 2 occasions. First time took it back and got something else that escapes memory but was no better as I recall Benefit of the doubt as local but second time obtained a refund !!! Proprietor also owns nearby fish & chip shops(will add a review on that later) but would not recommend even if it is cheap

Great food, brilliant service, cheap drinks as well compared to pub and bars around. I find that it’s always a great start before a night out
