History
Established in 2010.
Tango Lingua was born out of a desire to bring the wonderful and unique experience that is tango dance to a wider range of people. Having danced in many places in many countries, Joe Hudson wanted to bring some of what he’d learnt to Southampton. While originating in Buenos Aires, tango arose from the core of the human spirit, drawing on a medley of cultures, and musical influences of the time. Over the ages it has travelled the globe, continuing to evolve and to be refined. Now, with a fresh, modern edge, tango can be a highly contemporary dance. It is this fresh, eclectic and creative spirit that guides Tango Lingua.
Before teaching tango, Joe Hudson taught the martial art of Jiu Jitsu. He has also recently published a guide book to healthy, loving personal relationships. The awareness gained of how the body can be most effectively used along with how people learn, communicate and connect on a deep level, underpin his teaching style and understanding of tango.

I’m passionate about tango dance, there’s just so much depth and creativity to it for me. I started learning on 2006. It was love at first sight and the more I did the more I was hooked. I started to travel and learn as much as I could from different teachers and dancers. Tango Lingua is the result of a steadily growing dream to run my own tango school and share this magical dance with more people.
