The Sundial

Not really a grip about the food etc as never got the chance to sample it. We turned up with two small dogs and seated ourselves at one of the outside tables it was a nice sunny day for once. Two of us went in to order and while one came out with the drinks the other eventually came out after waiting for service to inform us that our order could not be taken as we were sitting outside incredible! The reason given was seagulls well it is on the coast. We would never of bought the drinks if we had known. We consequently went further along and sat outside another eating place with food albeit it wasn’t the steak we wanted but it was still a varied menu. It was The Sundial’s loss as if they can afford to turn away customers (our order was substantial) in these times when many businesses are suffering financial loss than good luck to them.

I first visited the pub after my 1^st Bupa Great North Run in 2007, the pub can get very busy if you don’t get in there quick enough after the event. The staff were very smart & friendly, the service was moderate, there were a nice range of beers and the beers were of a good quality.
Overall, I had a good experience in the pub!

This is a large pub right on the coast/​beach. The parking is not free, so if you remember to get your ticket you should have an enjoyable visit. This pubs food is very good. They have a very varied menu. The best bit about this pub is that the meals come out on those huge plates/​bowls/​troughs that some pubs do. The grills are good too. Extra large all the way here. There is a small soft play pit in there that is free and a few arcade rides for the kids. There are two pool tables also for the adults. Service is fine. Gets very busy on a sunday! but well worth a visit.
