Cineworld – Solihull

As cinemas go Cineworld Solihull is pretty run of the mill, located upstairs in Touchwood shopping center past the restaurants it’s very easy to find and is a great meeting point.
The cinema foyer itself has self service ticket machines on one side and refreshments on the other. They offer the standard, Nachos, Popcorn and hot dogs as well as a decent amount of ice cream and an expensive but sugar packed Pic’N’mix area.
There are a few things to remember if you are running late the self service machines may not sell you a ticket and if so you need to purchase yours from the refreshments counter.
At the back of the foyer is the bar, which offers wine beers and spirits and also Starbucks coffee.
The screens themselves are up a further set of escalators and are of decent size and quality but nothing amazing. Overall a decent cinema in an easy to get to location.

Cineworld a really good company if you like films as it offers a monthly unlimited card so you can come back when you like.
I’ve visited here many times, they recently had new self checkouts where you can buy your tickets from, unfortunately if your an unlimited customer you have to book online or go to the normal checkout, I have asked them online and see if this is working or not.
One flop about this place is apart from one or two screens the screens are quite small with limited seats so if a big release comes out be aware to do your tickets early otherwise all the good seats will be gone. Generally the big releases are in the biggest screen anyway.
There is no IMAX screen here so you either have to go to Broad Street or NEC for that. From time to time they do special events, this cinema isn’t open as late as the others in the west Midlands either.
In general very good cinema, good customer service, its clean, the place has a small bar and very popular in the area for those who ain’t wishing to trip to five ways.

First time in this Cineworld. I love how they have the self service ticketing machines. No need to go to the staff which were very few compared to the one in five ways. The screens are smaller (atleast the one I was in) 9 compared to 12 in Five Ways. I love the seats better than the other cineworld and the whole interior design is much better and great lighting. Screens are upstairs and they have LED displays telling you what time and movie playing in each screen. It reminded me of AMC/​Odeon in Broadway Plaza. (my favourite cinema)
I will be making habbit to come to this cinema now. Comfortable, relaxed and great experience overall. The sound quality was so much bettter too. I normally don’t notice these things but I noticed how clearer and great sound coming from the screen. Ofcourse it might be because smaller screen and barely any people inside but I want to believe it’s like this anytime. :)

Located in Touchwood Solihull, right in the vicinity of restaurants and bars, this cinema is the ideal place to go on a date night or with friends and family. Adult ticket prices are more expensive compared to Odeon, £7.60 before 5pm and £9.20 after 5pm. Family tickets available based on 2 adults and 2 children for £28.80. Good range of Refreshments and snacks, including alcohol. Screen, sound and seating is fine. 3D movies shown and this cinema is Autism friendly. Parking available in the Touchwood car park. I do recommend this cinema, however my heart lies with Odeon.

As a Cineworld Unlimited member, I normally go to Birmingham Cineworld (see separate review) however, a couple of times recently I’ve been to the Solihull one to meet friends for lunch and movies.
In the cold weather, what I love about this branch is that you don’t have to go outside. Parking is secure and underground, and there are plenty of food options surrounding the cinema.
It’s an open front, and quite small, but always seem to be very efficient and serve quickly. There’s a small Starbucks franchise in there so you can pick up coffee and muffins, a nice change to popcorn and cola!
It always seems very clean in there, looking like the carpets have just been hoovered… maybe that’s just me, but that’s how it appears.
It’s certainly one of the more expensive branches of Cineworld locally, and parking is chargeable (though of an evening I seem to recall its only about £1, so not too bad). Due to the open front, I suppose offering parking validation as they do in Birmingham would be a little difficult, but if you’re going to Touchwood for other things too, it’s well worth it.

Cineworld Cinemas in Solihull are located on the first floor of the Touchwood Shopping Centre, past the restaurants. It’s a deceivingly small cinema but has a range of film showings. There are two colleges and many schools nearby so it can get quite busy with students, especially on Wednesdays because of Orange 2−4−1 offers on tickets.
In my opinion, Cineworld Cinemas have the best nachos and popcorn and this place is no different. Their Ben and Jerry’s ice-​cream counter has a large selection, which is so difficult to resist! They also have a bar and private hire facilities.
The seating is comfortable and spacious, despite most of the auditoriums being small. The cinema is always well-​maintained and clean.
Tickets here are pricey compared to other local cinemas with the adult price at £8.70. However, they do offer a special price on Tuesdays at £5.60, not to mention Orange Wednesdays.

Good location in Touchwood shopping centre — well surrounded by restaurants for eating before or after the movie. While it gets busy, being the only cinema in the town, a decent number of screens mean there’s plenty of choice and popular movies are shown on multiple screens at 30 minute intervals to keep everyone happy.
Best of all, Cineworld operate an unlimited loyalty system so that for £14 a month, cinema fans can go as often as they like!

This cinema is located on the top floor of the Touchwood Centre. It is easy to access and there is plenty of car parking space in the shopping centre car park. Although not free, parking is a flat £1.50 after 6pm so not bad at all. The cinema is really good, it is very modern and is kept very clean. There are plenty of screens and the latest releases are shown. The seats are SO comfy, big cushioned reclining seats with plenty of leg room. Orange Wednesdays are available here and there are other discounts available such as cheaper rates on a Tuesday. Tends to get busy at peak times, especially weekends, so perhaps booking may be advisable.

This is an easy cinema to get to, as it sits within the Touchwood shopping centre. Parking on the lower level is easy, and you can always combine the trip here with some shopping. There are plenty of screens, and usually a good choice of new releases.
New releases and popular films can be tricky to get into here, with long queues and some viewings sold out. Be prepared to book beforehand, or go early; after all, you can always get your tickets then wander off for a while within the shopping centre. Expect large queues for the snacks and drinks too.
On the plus side, Orange Wednesdays are available here, less popular films can offer almost personal viewings, and there are great comfortable seats with plenty of legroom in some rows.
If you are at a late screening, then emerging into the shopping centre can be a bit like boarding the Marie Celeste — slightly spooky, but there are plenty of security staff patrolling.

When i was living in the centre of Brum, I always chose the AMC over the Cineworld. Now I’m in Solihull I have only Cineworld to choose from. That doesn’t seem to be a bad thing though. It’s easy to get to with lots of parking at Touchwood, and as you would expect has all of the latest releases. It can get busy at peak times so I always book my tickets online before we go.

Big comfy cinema in Solihull. Probably one of the few places left to go in Solihull to watch a movie with the larger cinema that shut down a few years ago.
Worth using student discount on the door or printing off a voucher from student beans. Big new releases do tend to sell out so worth either going down early or waiting for the crowds to go first.

This cinema is easy to get too, with great parking facilities as its based in the Touchwood shoping centre. Because of this you can really make a night of it as there are places to eat nearby. It always has the latest films, and is a multi screen cinema. However, it does get very busy, particuraly at weekends.

Orange wednesday numbers are excepted here but if you do not have an orange phone Tuesdays are the cheapest day to visit at all seats £4.40 all day. On a Wednesday after 5pm it is £5.70 and it can be very busy. They sell cinema nibbles of popcorn ice cream and sweets and drinks but these are very expensive so I would not buy them from here. I sometimes bring a drink in with me and I have never been stopped from doing that. They have lots of screens and the seats are very comfortable. The staff check your tickets upstairs and tell you which screen to go to for your film

I regularly go to this cinema it is really easy to get to as it’s in Touchwood, it has good car parking facilities and nearby places to eat.
The cinema always has the latest films but does get busy especailly at weekends it is better to pre book your tickets, as sometimes if you turn up you can’t always get in.
