Having found neelams after my nights out in Birmingham and wanting food i thought i found the ideal place. But i was wrong! The staff are useless and in the 20 or so times ive ended up here they have NEVER got my order correct i always end up with part of someone elses food and my stuff missing. When your very drunk this does not bother you and you just eat it anyway. The food whilst drunk and very hungry is amazing but if you ever go there sober you will think otherwise! The place is dirty and the food cold and nasty i would never go here again through choice when theres other places to go. This establishment is only still going due to it being the only place to get food at silly time at night no-one in the right mind would eat it sober anyway.

Even though Bearwood isn’t my neck of the woods(it’s pretty much the opposite of town) me and my buddies would always go over to Neelams’s whenever it was late at night and we were anywhere near the vicinity. It’s been there for a very long time and seems to get a little bigger every time I go back. They serve all the usual fast food, burgers, kebabs, pakora, pizza and it’s all incredibly cheap. There are always various meal deals or offers. The best thing is they never seem to close(I’ve been in there at 4am on occasion) so you can always pile in there if you have been on a late night and are looking to soak up some of the booze. They also do delivery for orders over a tenner. It’s cheap, greasy take away food but the good kind!

Not being the biggest fan of kebabs, after a friend suggested that we head to Neelam’s on the Bearwood high street, you can imagine by dismay. But upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Neelam’s actually serve an array of food, all coming in huge portions. After having had a couple of beers, we were more than ready for a feast, so whilst my friend ordered a kebab I decided to order a burger. Both came with a side of chips and we proceeded to sit down and devour our meals in a matter of seconds. Fairly priced and combined with a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the staff were as helpful as ever, so much so that I’ve been back, tried a kebab and can safely say, it was delicious!

I was in the UK this summer, during those riots or whatever, so after 4pm everything in Birmingham city was closed… excepttt Neelam’s. :) VERY friendly staff who couldn’t understand my americano accent lol. The dahl was sooo good! Nice and spicy! Portions were huge. Naan was fresh! I stuck with the dahl usually and we got chicken kabobs too once I think. They have a TV too and they play the bollywood music channel! haha, I will return when I head across the pond next :)
