Terrible! Two haddock and one large chips = haddock was so overcooked that the batter snapped in two and there was literally nothing inside. Just hard, orange, stiff, dried fish. Same for both of us. I rang to complain that there was actually no fish in our ‘fish’ and he said we could have another portion another time for free. However, when ringing back 2 weeks later to place the same order, we were told that they couldn’t put a free portion through the till without the manager being there and it was his night off. So basically when I checked at the time of complaint that we could redeem the complimentary portion at any time even if he wasn’t there he said yes, it’s fine. It was his mistake as they had new friers as he’d overcooked our portions then why did he still find that fine to serve to us? Such a shame as we always used to go here but now we will take our custom to Southwick instead and it’s just as close and we hope for better customer service and indeed for there to be some actual fish inside the batter. Poor form.

Fabulous chipper! Difficult parking in centre of town but worth it. Chips done a lovely light golden colour and taste divine. The batter is light, but crunchy. not that hard that it knocks your fillings out. Very pleasant guy to serve you. Bet you go back! 4 only because of the parking.

This is one fantastic chippy! We had a day out in Shoreham recently and decided to grab some fish and chips on the go and eat al fresco by the river. I had large cod and chips, the fish was really REALLY fresh and not dripping in grease and the chips were nice and light and fluffy. My wife had huss and chips and it was equally as good. The curry sauce here is definitely worth a try too! It does get really busy here at weekend lunchtimes so maybe have an early feed to beat the crowds!
