I am currently renting a property from Mendip housing. I am finding Mendip housing very fair property owners. If I want to do any work on the house, I have to let them know in writing. If there are any problems, with the property like the heating not working there is a hotline number I can phone and a repairperson will come out very quickly.
The rent is very reasonable compared to other property owners. I rent a Two-​bedroom house for £74 a week. Most two-​bedroom houses in this area charge £100+ a week! They also offer rent breaks which means at Christmas I have 2 weeks where I do not pay rent and again at Easter, this gives people who are in rent arrears a chance to catch up on their rent.
Mendip housing operates a points system for people who need housing. The more points you have the more chance you have of being offered a property. Once you have a property to rent from Mendip housing you can apply for a swap to other housing association houses. They are very fair to there tenant.
