I like this place. The food was good and some food includes a drink, so reasonably priced. Plenty of seating both down and upstairs and I found the staff to be friendly. Certainly visit again.

My favourite of the Spoons in Sheffield. There are some quite interesting touches to the décor (all the popes and the tubes).
Had Robinson’s Crusoe, a triple hopped seasonal, which seemed decent.
I may be exaggerating slightly, but there was a 7ft bartender and a 4ft something barmaid, which amused me.

It seems almost pointless doing a review for a Wetherspoons, as ‘what you see is what you get’. Everyone knows what to expect of the chain, which is what makes it so popular. However, I’d have to say that the Benjamin Huntsman is the best Wetherspoons in the city centre. Deceptively small from the outside, it also has a large upstairs (with bar) and smoking area. The pub has a good selection of real ales too!

Not bad. Ate there yesterday lunchtime. Large car park (free for up to 2 hours). Conveniently situated and spacious. Food and drink were plain but good value. Wasn’t too crowded when I was there (Friday 1.30pm ish) and didn’t have to wait too long for service. Convenient for the University and its halls of residence. I will certainly go there again.
Sorry, got the wrong pub. I was actually referring to The Francis Newton, a larger pub some way from the city centre, out towards Broomfield.

It’s a Wetherspoons so it follows the same formula, cheap, plays some very quiet music and tends to be frequented by people who like cheap drinks funnily enough. The pub itself is big and spacious and the staff generally attentive and useful. They do cheap food which is edible but no likely to win any awards. Not a place I’d choose to go on a weekend evening but fine to start off in or to get away from people in the afternoon.

A good place to start out night out and meet your mates. Drinks are reasonably priced as are all weatherspoons.
Usually have a good selection on the ales which always excites me. Serves food inside too, and its nice and filling.
The staff are very helpful and friendly.

The Benjamin Huntsman is a Wetherspoons pub in Sheffield City Centre.
Out of the three Wetherspoons pubs in the city centre, this has the most modern décor with leather sofas and trendy artwork. There are two floors, with a large smoking terrace upstairs. There are heaters on the terrace, but on my last visit these were not working, which was not pleasant for the smokers in my group!
In terms of drink and food, like any other Wetherspoons, the beer is very cheap, as is the food. It can get quite busy in the evening leading to a large wait for food.

This is the place to go if you want cheap drinks on a night out. Quite laidback but can get busy at weekends. As per all Weatherspoons it does great drinks offers. Quite modern with leather sofas and big TVs. upstairs there is a smoking terrace which is nice in the summer.

I dont think its tahat bad. but then again i font work there.
It is cheap and there food and drinks not bad either. Although i have had a coke bofore that only tasted soda-​ery rather than ‘coke’ but aprt from that ive not had any problem.
Its full of families having meals during the summer holidays.
Any other time it is full of old people and ‘business’ people.
I nip in now and again, you get good customer service here. The plae is alrite and so are the toliets

I’ll echo the sentiments of the previous reviewer. It’s a decent enough place to start a Saturday night with cheap drinks and close proximity to the main bar stretch in Sheffield. It tends to attract older clientele and is a decent enough place to have a chat before getting your boogie on.
I’ve always found the staff lovely and they serve a decent pint of Guinness.

Dunno if there’s any point in reviewing Wetherspoons pubs as they’re generally all exactly the same. All I can say about this one is it’s a good starting point and meeting point for a pub crawl in the city centre. Obviously these pubs are famous for their cheap bar prices, and food which often comes at the cost of low paid overworked bar staff. The food isn’t great but you get what you pay for. The atmosphere is generally dead. It has a decent sized beer garden which is well heated. Not much else to say about it. Good place to go when you’re skint or it’s your round and there’s about 15 of you out!
