As an outsider to Sheffield (and the UK in general), the York makes you feel like a local. Such a nice little gem in the Broomhill area. I only had their beers but would gladly come back to try their food. They have a great selection of beers on tap, nice décor, an outdoor patio area, and a general great ambiance. I imagine the place to get pretty busy during the school year but luckily for me, the York provided a pleasant night out.
I wish the York was my local pub!

I love The York. It’s a place that has never let me down, be it drinks with friends, stopping for lunch with my partner or, as on this occasion, dinner with the in laws.
A lovely atmosphere coupled with brilliant food. I had the burger with cheese and it was so juicy. The salmon dish that my partner had was great too, the sauce being a particular delight. We didn’t have much room left for pudding but shared a treacle parkin with ginger ice cream which is one of the best sweets I’ve ever had.

We were visiting Sheffield for a friends birthday and a local friend booked in 8 of us for dinner before the party. What a great choice it was. A proper pub for grown ups, with a lovely atmosphere and the food was great. I had a steak and my girlfriend had the Sea Bass and we both licked the plates clean. Staff were really good and prices were very fair.
Enjoyed it so much the two of us went back next day for Sunday lunch. We hadn’t booked this time and the place was busy but it wasn’t too long a wait before the manager found us a table. Fantastic roast with real, homemade Yorkshire pudding and washed down with some kick ass Bloody Mary’s.
