The pub is situated close to a little park. A big outside seating area is available and the inside was carefully refurbished recently. However, it is run by Wetherspoons which means that the food is basically microwave heated and a place lacks the personal a touch.

Large Wetherspoons pub. Newly opened in February 2010. Like all Wetherspoons pubs there is a wide range of beers, reasonably priced. The food is plain traditional English pub grub, probably involving extensive use of a microwave. Not brilliant but good value. The pub has a large ‘pay and display’ car park, although the first 2 hours is free so long as you spend £10.
Ambience is comfortable and service is prompt. There is a big outside seating area. The pub adjoins pleasant public gardens. Convenient for the University and its nearby halls of residence. Although, definitely not a ‘student pub’. Nice place to take your Mum and Dad when they are visiting.
