Snap Deli is an independent café, caterer and delicatessen that operate’s in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. With a passion for good food, our emphasis is on sourcing the best possible ingredients at an affordable price. By being in line with the season and having a flexible menu that changes daily, we are able to offer this and give our customers the best possible products and value for their money.

The café itself opens daily and offers breakfast (all day) that range from a proper full English, to home-​baked croissant and pastries, as well as freshly ground coffee. Our lunch and early dinner menu consists of hot daily specials, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, fresh soups and a series of pies and cakes that are all home made in our kitchens. Our deli style sandwich and salad fillings change every day, along with our wide selection of cakes and puddings.

History

Established in 2010.

The ethos of Snap Deli is to create a «proper» café, where people can enjoy un-​pretentious, great quality ‘comfort food’ in a relaxed, friendly and modern setting.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Snap Deli is a venture by two long standing friends and native ‘Sheffielder’s’; Robert Smith and Christopher Gillingham. The word «Snap» is a local word for food and one that has featured heavily in the up-​bringing of both guys.

Robert has run a family business for many years, and although not within the food and beverage industry he has always had a keen interest and is a self confessed «foody». After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a BSC (Hons) in Catering Management, Chris has worked in several restaurants around Sheffield and Derbyshire, both front of house and as a chef. He spent a year working for Richard Smith at ‘Thyme Restaurant’ and ‘Thyme Café’, and then became restaurant manager at the ‘Terrace Restaurant in Hathersage, where he worked and trained alongside Head Chef; John Parsons. Chris teamed up with John to open ‘Kitchen’ bistro on Ecclesall Road. He left his role as Restaurant Manager in May this year to pursue this venture of his own family-​run café
