Newfield School no longer consists of the twin 1960s structures, East Wing and West Wing, but a shiny new modern school for the kids to graffiti.
It has also been merged with Talbot special needs school.
It no longer has classrooms, it has learning areas.
Every learning area now has an interactive white board so that when they break, the teachers have even more of an excuse not to teach the kids anything of note (but I can’t possibly teach without a computer!)
Looking through the list of teachers, any that were decent when I was there have gone on to pastures new with only a few hardy souls surviving the régime changes.
It did me no harm, but I don’t think I’d wish it on my worst enemies now.

This school is currently being rebuilt as part of the Government’s multi-billion pound school renovation programme.
It has also been through a multitude of headteachers in the last few years which has seen standards at the school slip in terms of behavior with many local residents now looking to other schools to send their children to. Many of the old skool teachers who kept the school running have either retired or moved on.
I personally went to Newfield many years ago and did reasonably well out of it but after hearing some of the comments from current parents, I would think twice before recommending it to anyone else.
