Description

Specialties

Meadowhead Physiotherapy are JEMS (Joanne Elphinston Movement Systems) certified movement specialists. Our extensive knowledge of biomechanical movement in addition to more traditional hands-on treatment (including acupuncture for pain relief) will give you the best possible outcome for your condition, focusing on the cause and not just the symptoms. We are back pain specialists and have had success treating chronic long-standing problems that may have resisted previous treatments or therapies. We treat all types of sports injuries and specialise in rehabilitating runners incorporating video analysis of their running style.

History

Established in 2006.

The business was born of a vision to give people access to the best possible treatment at the time they really need it. Having worked in the NHS and privately, Jenny Manners (the founder of Meadowhead Physiotherapy) was all too familiar with the limitations being placed on the physiotherapy profession and wanted to do things differently, putting clients at the centre of her philosophy. She created a clinic and a team dedicated to putting patients first and providing the type of care that people really want — high quality, fast, effective treatment from experts in their field in a warm, safe and friendly environment.

I care passionately that pain doesn’t dictate what you do or limit the life you want to lead. I want you to be able to choose take part in the activities you want to enjoy without fear that you may cause yourself pain or ‘harm’. This is because I know exactly how it feels to be in that position. I truly believe that there is ALWAYS something that we can do to help, for some of you it may be learning to manage your pain better, to allow you to be more active but for a large majority of your pain will go completely.

My desire to become a physio started at 19 when I received treatment for shin pain whilst taking my aerobics instructor exams. I just thought it was amazing how she was able to tell me in the initial assessment what was causing my pain! The treatment was really effective and I remember how brilliant it was to have no pain when teaching my class. I went on to study Physiotherapy at university and recently passed my Masters in Advancing Physiotherapy.
