Specialties
Seaton Spring Ltd the North East’s only complete Water Cooler Supplier offering Mains Connected (POU /Plumbed /Bottleless) and Bottle Fed watercoolers from our own bottling plant in the heart of the region.
History
Established in 2002.
Our premises, called The Waterworks, are steeped in history. Our headquarters, warehousing and secure borehole are all housed in the renovated Seaton Pumping Station, which dates back to 1896. In production from 1907 the station drew water from the limestone aquifer beneath to supply fresh water to communities in Durham, Cleveland, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear.
Full of character and charm, the building still maintains many of its original features. Steam powered until the late 50’s, at it’s height it drew 250,000 gallons a day from the source. With the completion of Kielder reservoir the station was taken out of everyday service until the Bulmer family restored it in the late 1990’s and restarted production to supply the North East business community with high quality drinking water.
Today, we service in excess of 2,000 water coolers, only operating within the North East postcodes to ensure all our customers receive the highest quality service.
Meet the Business Owner
Paul G.
Business Owner
Paul joined Seaton Spring Ltd as Managing Director in 2006. Paul’s first involvement with the watercooler industry started in 1997 when he joined Northumbrian Spring Natural Mineral Water as Managing Director in 1997. During Paul’s time managing Northumbrian Spring he oversaw a complete bottling plant refurbishment program and led a team which doubled the company’s customer base before Danone purchased it in 1999.
Paul’s next venture in water coolers was as Director of Operations and Marketing of German watercooler company Fresh and Cool Watertechnology. This was a start-up operation using Venture Capital funding to grow organically, establishing five distribution points throughout Germany and placing 14,000 water dispensers in the period 1999 to 2003 before being purchased by Eden Springs.
Seaton Spring Ltd is now the only bottling plant operating in the North East which fills 19 litre water bottles, filling both own label and Seaton Spring branded bottled water.
