History

Established in 1977.

David was originally a chef, having trained at The Savoy, London, and later became a sales rep for Epicure products. Seaford Health Store was one of the shops he called on and David always thought it had more potential than was being realised by the current owner. Therefore, when she decided to sell, David was first in line to purchase it.

David & Helen Pollard bought the business in 1987 when it was a small shop located in Place Lane, Seaford. They moved it to 26 Church Street, Seaford, in 1990 as, due to demand, much larger accommodation was needed. In fact, it has been extended three times since the move and now occupies 1000 sq.ft.

It is like the tardis, much bigger inside than it looks from outside!

I was originally a chef, which comes in particularly handy sometimes in the shop as I still enjoy cooking. My wife Helen and I eat healthily and we do eat what we sell!

Helen loves wine, in fact she belongs to the local wine club, and we sell the largest range of organic wine in the area.

I love cycling and help run a sussex cycling club. I enter time trials and am a national champion. In fact, in the shop we have a ‘wall of fame’ and a ‘wall of shame’. One the wall of fame is one of Bradley Wiggins authentic signed yellow jerseys with his picture. Lance Armstrong has been assigned to the wall of shame!

We are both passionate about our business, keep up to date with new products and constantly expand our knowledge to give customers correct information.
