Nice place but for the price of the food and what you get is ridiculous I expected better for the price and the staff are not nice

We came here as it was a dog friendly pub and having never been on a dog walk this side of Salford we were keen to see what it had to offer. The pub itself is set on grounds next to the Marriott and the golf club, so very impressive gardens and surrounds. Ample parking, friendly staff. Inside there is a very cosy feel about the place. Food menu is pretty standard fare being part of the pub chain. We did have to wait a long time for the food(around 45minutes) even though it didn’t seem that busy. Lots of board games available to keep you and your friends busy, and the dog enjoyed bonding with the other canines there! Up-stars for being dog friendly, and a good place to round off a long walk around Worsley.

A friend and I have met here every week for the past few weeks for a drink and a catch up. The atmosphere is very cosy and this week we sat by the open fire and played Scrabble followed by Cluedo! We have also eaten here on several occasions, and although the menu doesn’t offer a huge choice, everything I’ve ever eaten here has been really tasty! The cream brûlée is to die for! The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because there’s not a jungle hot meal choice, and the prices are slightly above average for posh pub grub!

You would really struggle to find somewhere more traditional and cute than Worsley Old Hall. It feels as if you could be in the middle of the countryside when in reality your in the middle of Worsley. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food is delicious, my absolute favourite is the Cauliflower, chickpea and spinach tagine served with a pitta and rice. They also do Sunday roast but I haven’t been lucky enough to try that yet! It is a really good escape from the craziness of the city centre, for me it is somewhere that feels really homely and somewhere where you can just relax. Also, I couldn’t agree more with Roz W., who knew toilets could be so incredible? It was like walking into Narnia…

On the whole this very large pub is first class. I had lunch here from a wide ranging menu and could not fault the food or the staff. The Hall has a lot of local history associated with it and the website gives an excellent summary. Worsley is the cradle of the industrial revolution, and the Duke of Bridgewater once owned this site. Two things prevented me giving this five stars. Firstly the Wi-Fi did not work. I connected to it OK but there was no Internet available. Secondly the pedestrian access is poor, there is no footpath and those arriving on foot have to walk on the grass or the road from the street to the pub, a distance of about 200 yards or so. The garden is huge and beautiful, as is the building.

What a find! This is such a lovely pub with a great menu. We went on a Sunday so naturally had to go for the Sunday roast — it did not disappoint. Fab veg which was a bit different to you typical carrot & peas option and a generous helping of meat & gravy! Desserts looked amazing but I had no space left to fit one in. Note to girls: The toilets are incredible.
