Nice friendly staff. A sneer to the review below: If you have never developed any taste in your life might have looked over the proper products: Good Parmeggiano, excellent Greek yoghurt, yummy pastrami, and Serrano ham for which you pay twice the price in your proper supermarket. There’s much more to check out. Their Extra Vierge olive oil won prices. It might be clear this is not the place for the average snob, but they’re surely much happier in their M&S reservate, a splendid place for those who have no talent for cooking. Lidl always has nice promotions on offer for anything that’s handy around the house, sports clothing, you name it. Lidle is German, so quality is guaranteed. Ooow, they don’t have brands. Tough. Vegs and fruit are fairly priced, but always verify. They occasionally have good wine, but it’s hard to find. Their St. Emilion Grand Cru doesn’t live up to expectations. They used to have a temporary stock of Caçaça and Pineau de Charentes. Great. Do I do all my shopping at Lidl? No, but 70% of my weekly needs is covered.

LIDL is good. I am happy to extend that compliment to this lidl in Salford, which by remaining similar to the other lidls in the world, also qualifies. In fact, its not even a LIDL bit worse. Eh, like it? They’ve got about half the things you want, but they’re about half the price they are at Sainsbury’s, where they’ve got all the things you want. That’s the best way to look at it. In fact, if I do say so myself, I’ve hit the nail on the head. The other half of the things they’ve got, are hilarious tat, ranging from food I’ve never heard of to random pairs of plimsolls available in 1 size.(1 size not size 1, so dont get excited babies, also what are you doing on Unilocal babies?) Yeah!

Have you ever noticed that you can become attached to one particular supermarket? You’re a Tesco or Sainsbury’s person, an Asda or Morrison’s person… well, it works for budget stores too. I’m an Aldi person, thus I find Lidl somewhat confusing. Both are German, both deal in groceries alongside wildly miscellaneous goods. But which is better? There’s only one way to find out… FIIIIIIIIIII — no, the only way to find out is to go there. Which I did. To be honest there’s not a lot between them. I find Aldi somewhat aesthetically more pleasing
