In tough times, many professionals within the music industry have had to diversify, which is exactly what Musoplex have done, offering recording services, rehearsal rooms, band photography, and video services with specific stages for filming. What I like about the video services are the different packages available — they can come to a gig and make a professional video of you playing there, they can make a pop video on location, they can make one in the studio, they’ll even rent you the stage so you can bring in your own cameraman and film it with your own crew.
Musoplex is certainly an ambitious project — I can’t think of anywhere else in the Midlands offering all these services under one roof. The results they get are professional, and although they’ve made an effort to cater for different budgets, those who are just dipping their toe in the water of musicianship might be better off looking somewhere else. As people, they’re certainly on my level.
As a musician, I think choosing studio type services is a very personal choice, and I’d advise checking out as many as possible before committing your time and money. However, I’d definitely put Musoplex on your list, and the video and photography services are worth a look too.
