We visited the open farm one Friday afternoon when we had nothing much to do and what a treat we discovered. There isn’t an entrance fee which is always a bonus but the farm shop sell buckets of vegetables to feed to the animals. It’s not a massive farm but there are goats, donkeys, ponies, sheep, a cow, a bunch of chickens, ducks, peacocks and geese. There is also a caged area with chipmunks, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. Most of the animals will take food from you very gently which is great for young kids. As well as the animals there is a good farm shop(although they should perhaps concentrate on the food rather than the garden centre element which is a bit ropey) and a café which wasn’t open on our visit. I also understand that a falconry is run from this farm too but can’t comment on that as we didn’t see the birds of prey. If you have an hour to waste it is well worth a visit!
