An attractive building, with a beautiful restaurant. In recent years, however the restaurant has become expensive and the food and service, mediocre.
The place has massive potential but the management seem to be happy with going through the motions of running a hotel/​restaurant without aiming to be the best at what they do. There is an air of indifference and boredom. My last visit to the restaurant was a complete let down for me and the person I was trying to impress.
Visit South Lodge in Lower Beeding to see how things should be done.

A truely magnificent looking hotel, both from the outside and the inside. The rooms were nice but much more basic than I was expecting. The prices are very steep for functions such as weddings and for the rooms, but the do have an in house wedding planner to assist with the smooth running of the day. There are a few different function rooms and they all seemed very nice. The food in the restaurants is quite expensive but I would highly recommend it.
There is also a health suite and spa which is highly regarded, and from friends which have been well worth the money or a bit of pampering!
