Appearances can be deceptive. This isn’t your average pub grub by any means. I’m loathe to review it, because it means the secret will be out, but this place deserves it. The only quibble would be on price, since a three course meal for two comes to about £60, but it’s good food in such unexpected surroundings that it’s worth it.

Great, unpretentious, welcoming country pub. Friendly staff, an excellent pint of Harveys and a roaring fire, what more could you ask for!
