Bruccianas

Bruccianas looks beautiful inside, the kind of a mirror and wood panelling I’ve recently mainly seen in Belfast. The food however wasn’t very good — I got a hot roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce baguette. The baguette was soft on the outside and about half of it was so dry from lack of any contact with the (lacklustre) filling I just threw it out. The orange cake had a good strong taste but the sponge was saturated with some kind of syrup — great the sponge wasn’t dry but this was a bit too far the other way as it was so sweet.
Would pop in again for the nice environment but only for drinks.

Very nice French shabby chic style, with an extremely good manager. Although it’s a shame to say the day that I have visited the bacon is hard and rubbery, the order was incomplete, the coffee is bitter and the custard tart is very uninviting. The manager needs to push his aim for perfection on to his staff especially the cooks. This place on a quiet day would most probably be on best form, but they do not handle the Saturday afternoon rush very well at all.

This is a regular haunt with our team of girls. Love to food and it makes us come back and back.

The building itself is the only thing worth visiting for, the service today was awful and the coffee is quite possibly the worst I have ever drunk, it tasted like filter coffee that had been left stood on a hot plate for an hour or more, weak, with an odd ditch water taste, and when I asked to change it for a cup of tea the attitude I got was astonishing, certainly NOT friendly, (It felt like they were thinking «how dare you complain, who do you think you are!!!)
I wont be going again, thank god I made my way to The Mystery tea house later on in the day !

A Preston institution! I was introduced to this place as a student and have been visiting for 15years now.
The décor is amazing, so nostaligic, I want the furnishings for my house. Pity that they discontinued the duck wrap (that’s not a useful comment for a review is it!!!).
Is it me or has the food dipped in quality recently? I can forgive it because the décor is so amazing.

I’ve been going to this café for over thirty years and it just gets better with age.

Fabulous café in the city center, takes you back in time with the theming and it does look like it has been there for many many years. The coffee and cakes are great and a reasonable price. Sandwiches are tasty but the milkshakes are really lovely. Lots of seating but the loo’s are down some pretty steep stairs. Always busy but that just adds to the fabulous atmosphere!

I really like this café — it’s full of atmosphere and character. The décor is lovely and old-​fashioned and reminds me of when I was a child. There are lots of old signs about the place and lots of dark wood. Once inside you feel very protected from the world. I brought my family here and they didn’t want to leave and go out into the heaving shops and the rain again.
Another good thing about this café is that the food is really fresh — I was really impressed with the sandwich I had. Also the prices are quite low for the centre of town. The coffee seems to come in the old-​style frothy, milky version which I normally wouldn’t like but here it’s quite nice. I think this is my favourite café in Preston.

This is alovely place to go for an afternoon coffe although it can be a bit pricey! It is also good for a light lunch and can get very busy at lunch times but it’s well worth waiting for the table.
Try the milkshake — They’re lovely!

This is a unique and memorable place to visit. Try the hot chocolate while you’re there! The walls are covered with original photographs, and the café has such a lovely feel. I have some great memories from visiting here. The food is always really nice, but I think I would still come even if it wasn’t up to scratch — the atmoshpere of this place is special and relaxing and the staff are attentative. The seats towards the back are cosy, or you can sit outside.

visited yesterday for luch, this place is unique its like a step back to the war years great atmosphere, staff still wear the black and white uniforms and it is full of little querky touches. not a huge menu but great food. at reasonable prices
we ordered a prawn and salmon salad. and a chicken caersar salad both were fresh tasty and great value for money.
