History

Established in 2003.

The class formed in July 2003 and grew in popularity very quickly. Over the years we have enjoyed teaching various degrees of ability from non-​dancers to social improvers. Christmas American suppers and organised social events have been undertaken over the years and proved to be extremely popular.

Ballroom and Latin dancing has been taught successfully at Instep Dance Club Portsmouth since 2003 by a fully qualified teacher, an Associate of the UKA Dance Association. Attended by non-​dancers/​social dancer and improvers, the emphasis is on enjoyment and pupils are encouraged to ‘Learn to dance at your own pace’. Classes are held every Monday at Devonshire Avenue Baptist Church Hall, Portsmouth, uk as follows:

1930 — 2030 Beginner

2030 — 2100 Free practise session

2100 — 2200 Improvers

Admission £4.00 for one session £5.00 for two per person per Monday.
