A cosey friendly village pub. Good choice of home cooked food (for the carnivores) not so good for the vegetarians. For £6.95 I expected more than ‘tinned’ macoroni. The serving was large and came with a salad but one of only three veggie options I hoped a bit more effort would have gone in to it. A spanish omellette was also ordered. Again the serving was plentiful, it came with a choice of salad or chips. In my eyes this was a vegetable omellette though, not the onion/​potatoe traditional spansih omellette that I was expecting. It contained far too many peas and was loaded with vegetables. It was a nice omellette (if you like peas which I dont) but was simply mis identified as spanish.
On the plus side the steak and kidney pie (homemade) was delicious.
I nearly forgot the starters. They are worth a mention as they too are very generous in size and I highly recommend the flat mushrooms served with bacon and stilton (bacon optional) A meal in itself!
Oh and there is a massive dessert menu but we were all too full to order a pudding!
