History

Established in 1977.

Trickett Welding business was founded in 1977, welding anything and everything at home whilst still in full time employment, working late into the night to get the business off the ground.

It was in 1978 that he decided to specialise in the repairs of motor vehicles. A friend of his owned a garage and needed a welder to repair the rusted vehicles to get them through the MOT”s.

In 1980 at the age of 16, Nigel Trickett joined the business which has gone from strength to strength.

In February 2000 we became a Limited Company, working for many of the main motor dealers in the area.

MOT vehicle welding is our main trade but restoration is now becoming a larger part of our business.

Business Owner

In 1980 at the age of 16 I left school and joined my father in his small welding business.

At that time he was being asked to weld motor vehicles as the new mot rules had got stricter on rust.

I was taught the skill of welding and body shop repairs.

The vehicles that we repaired in those days have now become todays classic’s.

From MK 1 to MK 5 Escorts and Cortina’s to Beetles and campers.

Our business has gone from strength to strength now employing 4 more members of staff.

Last year we had a new building built along side our existing one.

I am still a worker and get my hands dirty.
