This had come to me via a recommendation by the missus and we finally took the opportunity to come here to try it out together. The interior is a quaint tea shop look, very much a place I’d be happy to take my parents to. The menu has quite a range of deli related sandwiches and the like on there as well as sharing platters and small plates. I opted for the Canadian Club — which turned out to be pretty much the finest non-toasted sandwich I’ve had. A combination of cheese, ham, chicken chilli jam and a touch of magic. Not forgetting that wonderful just baked bread. It was so good we bought another one to takeaway as we were leaving so that we could have it later. So why four and not five stars? I’m sure that the next time I go I’ll have to revise this to add the extra star, but for now it lost it because on my wife’s hummus and falafel plate, the falafel were small and cold. Even if they had been thrown in a microwave for 20 seconds it would have taken the chill off. So two things to remember — get the Canadian club, and the cold drinks here are ice(and I mean really) cold. I suspect that my Saturday lunchtimes just got a new standard fixture.

Not normally on Pinner High Street during working hours, I missed this lovely little deli /food shop that opened, according to the lovely member of staff, about 5 months ago. There is a seating area at the back, and they serve a variety of sandwiches, salads, cakes and pastries to have in. There’s also a selection of things for foodies, which enticed me in. The staff member I spoke to was lovely and friendly. I picked up an almond croissant to go, and she told me they bake them on site every day. Definitely a place to come back to for a more proper try, but on this visit, I can’t fault the small but perfectly formed place!
