The family went to The Farmers for a Carvery on 9th September after reading the review in the Peterborough Telegraph. Very disappointing. The Chef just stood there scowling for some reason, no Yorkshire puddings out. When asked for them, just went to the kitchen, brought some out and we had to wait a couple of minutes while he placed them from one dish to another, one at a time, not offering any to us. The food was luke warm, as was the customer service. We had to wait 25 minutes for dessert. Which was overcooked. Will not return.

I booked The Farmers for a lunchtime Christmas meal for 12. The majority wanted something light, so only one person ended up wanting the three course Christmas menu. We paid in full a fortnight beforehand, and I pointed out that one of our party was a vegetarian and would like the carvery with the nut roast. This was not a problem. Sadly, it went downhill from here. Even though they already had a list of who wanted what, it took an hour for the food to arrive, and there was only about six more people in! The vegetarian was told that they had no nut roast, so they had to have something else. Even though I had told them it was our Christmas meal when paying, they were only willing to give one cracker to the person ordering the Christmas menu. None of the five people having fish & chips liked it. Soggy batter, bones and overcooked. Those having jacket potatoes were not impressed either. And whatever you do, do not order a small carvery. The large is a standard plate; the small is actually a side plate! Do not make a special trip to visit The Farmers, or a non-special trip.
