Eclipse

This place is an embarrassment to Penarth. I wish someone would burn it down. Manages to draw the worst of the worst people from the surrounding area.

Penarth’s most notorious night club (aided by the fact it’s Penarth’s only nightclub) this venue has been under various ownerships in recent years, with locals affectionately referring to it as ‘Tels’. It is however under seemingly stable management, with a massive refurbishment to the club’s interior transforming the club from its former self into an almost unrecognisable venue. Now named Eclipse, the stylish and sleek interior on both floors are tastefully done, with comfortable seating areas too.
The clientele is predominantly dominated by the younger generations, although plenty of middle-​aged women and men can also be found throwing some shapes on the dance floor. The music is also fairly mainstream, with the latest chart releases dominating the playlist. Drinks are a little expensive, as is the £5 entry fee, although in truth, most arrive having already been drinking heavily at one of the local pubs, leaving them unaffected by this.

Eclipse has a very nice relaxed mood, a must have feature of any wine bar. Combine that with the friendly staff, reasonable prices and general goodness of the place and you have a winning formula. A recommended venue for anyone wanting a quiet, peaceful night out.
