The most beautiful Pret I’ve ever been to. This is a restored Tudor-style building that’s gorgeous inside and out. Other than that it’s a pretty standard Pret.

The food, like at any Pret, was very good and fairly priced. They were, however, out of a few of the sandwich options when we arrived around 11:30am on a Sunday. There was a line to pay and the service was AWFUL. We were just carrying out our food, but they wouldn’t heat up our sanwiches(a courtesy other locations and every other similar style vendor in town offers). Additionally, they messed up my coffee order and asked if I’d have it anyway. I ended up taken the mistaken coffee just to get out of the hot and crowded space and on with my day. Additionally, to get napkins or even sleeves for our scalding hot coffee cups, we had to wait and ask the cashier at the counter who was already very busy. The napkins and coffee sleeves are not alone worth a fuss, but it was just such a hassle in that crowded location with unhelpful staff. I love the selection at Pret and will continue to eat at their other locations, but I definitely will NOT return to this one.

A fancy Pret in a restored building that apparently used to be frequented by Shakespeare, and may or may not have been a brothel. Possibly at the same time. Now it has tasty sandwiches, free wifi and a nice view of Cornmarket St.

This is definitely the best branch of Pret in Oxford. Pros I think because it’s a ‘Pret Café’ rather than a normal branch, it has the nicest interior. It’s big with comfy chairs and a nice atmosphere, while still having the typically friendly and efficient Pret service. The sandwiches are great as everyone knows. Cons The sting is that you have to pay quite a lot extra(the VAT, I think) to eat in, which is probably a waste of time(a) in summer(b) at lunchtimes, especially on the weekend, when it can be difficult or even impossible to find a table, especially for a group. You feel a bit of a prat ambling around waitin for a table to free up in a horde of people when you’ve just paid the ‘eat in’ extra for a little silver tray…

A nice cosy place to duck into on a cold day, with deep armchairs and comfortable upstairs seating. Perfect for coffee, although my favourites are the fresh sandwiches — chicken and avocado comes especially highly recommended. Prices are quite high, though, and it costs extra to eat in here — get a takeaway if you’re watching your money

Friendly service, fresh food, ample seating(upstairs too — stairs tucked away behind serving area/tills). On a par with Starbucks cost wise(for coffee and muffin) but quality far superior — organic milk, muffins baked on site; often still warm! Very chilled atmosphere– great for catching up with friends over a coffee.
