The warm lentil salad with poached egg starter — presentation was nice tho plate wasn’t very warm when the dish got to me. Bread pieces was nice crunchy and bacon did add nice flavour. However vinegar in the sauce was overpowering — almost made me sweat and I had to drink water to wash it. The sea bass main was spot on — great presentation and well-balanced flavour. Fish was fresh and not overcooked. Great dish! The chocolate pot dessert was really nice too — chocolate was full of flavour yet the mixture is still light enough to finish the pot in one go! New year 2-course at £10,95 and 3-course at £12.95 before 7. January special mains include pork belly, duck confit and sea beam(although sea beam was not available during my visit) The atmosphere was relaxing and staffs were efficient and friendly.

We had a day trip to Oxford and we were wondering in the streets when we came across this lovely restaurant. The three meal deal for £11.95 caught our attention and we went back there after strolling in the city. The staff was very helpful and professional. The food was excellent. No other restaurant excited us this much with every piece that was served on our table. It was a great experience from the start. We ended up spending 50 something pounds and it was worth every single penny.

I went there for my boyfriend’s birthday. It is well located(canal) and the food is really good! I find the food better there then café rouge. The atmosphere was great, service quick and food delicious. I will definitely go there again ;)

We truly enjoyed our evening at the Cote Brasserie and I highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The staff is very friendly, knows the menu and made great recommendations. Considering the prices(appetizers between GBP6 – 9; main courses GBP10 – 18) the portions are large and the quality and the taste of the food were outstanding. EVERYTHING we ordered tasted great! If you are looking for a quality dining experience in Oxford for very reasonable prices, considering the great quality and service, you need to stop in at the Cote Brasserie. You will not be disappointed.

Came for brunch on a Sunday with my Dad and baby sister, she can be a handful, and is very excitable, so it was lovely that they gave us colors for her to entertain herself. This was such a nice touch, and was doubled when they brought us a free chocolate croissant for her too! I ordered a chicken and walnut salad, it was super crispy and very filling! Dad had the minute steak with fries, and this was also super good. We finished things off with dessert, the house specialty(I’ve forgotten the name) and a Crème brûlée. Both were tasty, but the specialty was very, very good! Overall, the food was tasty and a good value, but where Côte really shines is in their wonderful service! They made eating a long meal with a toddler a breeze, we will most definitely be coming back!

Fantastic food and fantastic prices. It is french dining, at a moderate rate comparably. It was simply delicious. Get lunch here and you will not be disappointed. The walk over to the city center or Oxford Castle.

UPDATE: Took my husband here for his birthday dinner a few weeks ago. Reserved a table for us and another large table for his friends to come in while we were eating and when he couldn’t see them in order to move him at the end of dinner and surprise him. Staff could not have been more accommodating with my extra booking, taking care of balloons I’d brought earlier in the day, champagne set up and 10 friends waiting expectantly. It worked perfectly and service was wonderful. Thank you again everyone! We’ll always be back!

Good value French classics done well. They also have a decent wine selection. I can recommend the roast chicken and cheese selection. Particularly the latter was very good once it got to room temperature. Still a big problem in the UK that cheese is being served straight from the fridge! Don’t expect too much and you won’t be disappointed.

The food was fine, but we got a horrible table right next to the cash register/place the waiters go to get cups and such so that ruined the ambiance. Since there were other empty seats available I don’t know why they would give us such a rotten table. There were just two of us.

Came here today for lunch, feeling hopeful and hungry because I’ve always enjoyed the food here. I have thought the service quick and efficient. Sadly I was let down today. The first thing I noticed was that the pork rillette had disappeared from the menu. The steak tartare that I had instead was tasteless and had the consistency of jelly. I couldn’t eat more than a couple of forkfuls, and I love my steak normally. Next I had the seafood linguine which was jam packed with flavourless mussels and clams, and the prawns seemed to have been frozen beforehand. Whilst all this mediocrity was going on, the waitress tried to serve us slightly warm sparking wine. When we insisted on a cold bottle, she willingly obliged and then proceeded to spill it over us. A throughly disappointing experience. I don’t know if it’s just the Oxford branch that’s poor, or whether standards have dropped in a new CEO induced money-saving drive. If it’s the latter, please revert to your previous good form!

Back when I was a student here, one thing I missed greatly was a decent, thick slice of succulent steak — something available in most american cities. However, for some reason, the English enjoy thinly sliced meats that are slightly overcooked. In some cases, the meat has nice flavor — and this may be appropriate for certain cuts. However, I wanted something more satisfying — especially during paper writing crunches. This was the only place in Oxford to get this type of steak that I wanted. It’s a bit ironic that i found my «american» steak in a delicate french eatery in small town england. There was one more place that offered satisfying steak — in london– but it costed twice as much as a decent steak house in america and was of slightly inferior quality.

This place is charming and warm. It gets pretty busy during early evening hours. It has a great deal of 2-course meal for 9.95GBP or 3-course meal for 11.95GBP for dinner if you order before 7PM. This will make a great dating restaurant.

Very nice French bistro. The service was wonderful and the food very authentic. Location was great and very near the Bus station so I actually had breakfast there as well! I had a crêpe wrapped with sunnyside eggs and bacon(which is really like our country ham)…wonderful.
