A little coffee booth with friendly staff and decent coffee. There is some outside seating for smokers and the summertime. The espresso is decent. Outside of coffee, the spiced apple was a life-saver on winter nights even if it’s a little sweet. Avoid the hot chocolate like the plague though: it’s just Cadbury’s soluble stuff with some milk and it ends up pretty disgusting! All the powder at the bottom and everything.

Too cute coffees to be had at AMT Coffee. Right in the middle of the Oxford Train Station Ordered a Macchiato thinking it would be like Starbucks… but no! It was a *true* macchiato — shot of espresso w/nonfat milky foam &1 sugar please Coffee was smooth but strong & perked this tired traveller right up AMT was the right amt for me!

Once I had a cup of latte, I got addicted. Everytime I go to the city center I have my latte from AMT coffe. Staff well trained and very kind. Thanks. I wish we could have one in Summertown as well.

The best take away coffee– none if this grande, talle, de-café rubbish. Here you’ll get one size fits all cups, fair trade coffee & organic milk so you know what you’re getting and the prices are reasonable. I hate it when you have to £3 for a coffee thats luke warm and weak. Also the staff are friendly, and not robotic! I also highly reccommend the milk steamers you can choose a flavour(I usually have vanilla) and they are perfect for evenings when you don’t want a coffee– the chai steamer is also very tasty it has an aniseed flavour. In the summer try the milkshakes, they are made with ice cream and are full of flavour and very yummy!

I’m sure this would be a lovely place on a hot summer’s day, but even in May it’s still freezing sitting outside! The good: — more ethical than Starbucks — not such a strong coffee smell as indoor cafes(yes, I know I’m weird, but I can’t stand the smell of coffee!) — the atmosphere — come at the weekend or on a busy weekday and you can watch the world go by, accompanied by buskers and street entertainers. — the alternatives to coffee — important for people like me. — quick to takeaway — combine with a snack from Sainsburys and you’re good to go. The bad: — it’s cold sitting outside! — sometimes you don’t want to listen to bagpipes and noisy tourists. — it’s still more expensive than making your own drink at home and you’re not even paying to sit on a comfy sofa! — you may be surrounded by smokers Conclusion: great as a takeaway service, or on one of these rumoured sunny summer days.

I went for a coffee with a friend this morning and realised she had a completely different set of coffee bars in the map inside her head. I listed off all the cafes I normally go to and she said«no, we have to be able to sit down outside». She’s a smoker — need I say more. So we went to AMT which is slap bang in the middle of Oxford’s shopping streets(probably slap bag in the centre of Oxford as a whole actually). It is in the courtyard of St Michael’s church and so is a quiet space slightly apart from the hustle of Cornmarket St. All the coffee is fairtrade and some(perhaps all) of the tea which must mean it gets some of the passing trade as customers for the Fair Trade Shop under St Michael’s must walk right past it. The drinks are served from a little kiosk by efficient and friendly staff and there are a few tables and chairs to sit at. So if you are a smoker it is a good place to know about. If you aren’t then there are plenty of places nearby where you can sit in the WARM and enjoy a coffee!(It is probably nice in summer but I wrote this in early March).
