I love a good bakery, and although after a particularly healthy Christmas I shouldn’t really go over board on the fat stuffs, but when it comes to delicious home baked goods — just the smell — I am a bit of a push over. The difficult thing was which goody to choose from! In the window at the time there was a range of delights set to tempt me — lemon meringue pies, iced cupcakes, ginger bread — I’m rumbling at the thought… In the end I went for a a cup cake and it was delightful. Soft and spongy and everything you need from a cup cake. Delicious!

Arriving in Otley I am in need of sustenance an easy yet somewhat challenging task, it’s the choice you see delightful whilst at the same time adding a challenge to the familiar task of gethering. What do I want, how quickly, seated, standing, hot, cold, sweet, savoury or both. Ah ha! I spy with my beady eye the oldy-worldy treat shop, otherwise known as A Teal and Son. Bakery supreme. So it is I get a sandwich, cheese and pickle, brown bap and a Yorkshire Curd-tart. The latter was such a hard choice, there’s was an amazing construction that was like a giant profiterole but instead of chocolate icing it had coffee –yum. The cheese was rubbish though… booo.
