I go here for fish and chips whenever I’m in Birmingham as it’s the best in the city! Delicious takeaway and restaurant doing normal fish and chips and pies as well as fish tikka etc. They do vegetarian and gluten free days so everyone can eat something.

Being honest. Have been twice and I don’t understand the hype. I have tasted better. Sorry

I’m not a massive fan of fish and chips generally. If that seems an odd way to begin a five-star review of a restaurant that primarily(though not exclusively) sells fish and chips, that should give you some idea of how much I liked it. It is simply one of the most consistently good restaurants I’ve been to. We already seem to have developed a habit of taking visiting friends and family there, and so far no one has been disappointed. The menu is varied and informative(if you want to read about the background to the business then that info is in there too) and they will cook your food as you specify it. If you, as I do, want your fish with no skin on then they will do that. They can even do fish in gluten-free batter(though only on certain days so do check in advance). Service is great, the staff are knowledgeable and it’s an independent company. That last bit in particular might seem quite odd with Chamberlains being next-door to McDonalds and Chiquito on a busy road, but do give it a try. Also have a look on their website as they often do special deals midweek that are worth checking out.

Probably the best chip shop in the Smethwick/Oldbury/Quinton areas. Amazing Cod, Haddock and Plaice. The chips are unbeatable. They fry in beef dripping, but they will cook them in vegetable oil if you let them know when ordering. Great friendly staff who really fo know aboit quality. I looooooooove this place. A little bit more expensive than other chips shops in the locality, however, you really do get the quality.

Ok so this is probably one of the cleanest and modern chip shops i have ever seen and it already has won several awards. My personal opinion on chamberlains is that its alright, its alot better than the local competition but i have tasted better. They compare themselves to harry ramsdens but im sorry not quite at that level yet im afraid. But if your in the area and fancy fish and chips i definitely recommend you visit here.

I love a good fish and chips but Chamberlains is not the same old fish and chip shop it’s an award winning, popular place which people in Brum travel all the way to Oldbury to buy some good old fish and chips. My step dad is the one that got me to love fish and chips and since 7 years of age, I’ve always loved the good old British staple food. Tradition when it comes to fish and chips is important to me but I do like what Chamberlain has to offer because they do try and provide a variation of food which not many places do. The fact that you can choose how your meal is cooked depending on your preferences is unique– I mean you tell me how many places do that? Yes, you probably can’t think of any right! I would say though that Chamberlain is not a cheap fish and chips shop, it does charge fair prices for the service and food quality you receive; so don’t accept the £1.20 price you get at other fish & chips/takeaway shops– this is simply divine fish and chips. Plus, it’s not just a fish and chip shop; you can get other food like, chicken, pies and they even throw in a salad. So, day goodbye to the un-healthy fish and chip shops, go to Chamberlains and get the best of both worlds while still having the tasty fish and chips.

This award winning Fish and Chip shop is without doubt the most popular of its kind with in Oldbury and the surrounding area. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of the traditional English Fish and Chips, but Chamberlains set me on my way to change with a great meal, the first I’ve experienced of its kind. A standard sausage and chips with curry sauce was absolutely delicious, converting me into a Fish and Chip lover instantly. Another positive about Chamberlains is its ultra modern interior, that unlike many Fish and Chip takeaways, allows you to sit inside and experience a true dining experience, reminiscent of few if any Fish and Chip joints across the country.

Less than a year after opening Chamberlain’s won an award for Best Newcomer to the Fish and Chip Industry in the UK. They’ve secured a fine following and a great reputation for serving up the nation’s most famous dish so we thought it rude not to find out what all the fuss was about. The modern interior of the fully-licensed restaurant offers a light and airy atmosphere and a great place to sit and relax while you await your freshly cooked to order meal. The fish and chips are cooked the traditional way in beef dripping(although customers can specify vegetable oil if preferred and even gluten free batter is available) and their most popular choice and our choice, ‘Chamberlains cod or haddock meal’, is served with fresh chips, a choice of mushy peas, side salad, curry sauce or onion rings, crusty bread and butter and either a pot of tea or cup of coffee — and all for just £9.95. However if you have a serious hunger you can choose from a selection of starters. We liked the Mackerel and Cod Scotch Egg(£3.75) and the Calamari(£3.85). Having starters was a silly idea with the size of the meal we were having. Other mains include Fish Pie, Half Roast Chicken, a choice of Bowkett Pies, Mackerel Beetroot Salad, Monkfish Curry and much more but out of all the people that were dining the night we went(about 30+) we didn’t see one have anything OTHER than fish & chips. Chamberlains offer special deals; on Tuesdays you can have any two main courses in the restaurant for £10 and Thursdays pensioners can have small fish and chips, with all the trimmings, a pot of tea and an ice cream for just £5.95.

All I can say is wow, the tastiest fish and chips I’ve ever tried, brings back childhood memories of how fish and chips used to taste. Just to note, I drive about 10 miles to Chamberlains simply because no-one else comes close to them. I am the fussiest eater you could ever meet and this is the only chip shop I use, the food is cooked fresh for you. So happy I’ve finally discovered this gem, trust me just try them, I cannot praise chamberlains highly enough. I only tried the take-away but the restaurant looked very warm and inviting. Bostin’ Good!!!
