The exchange arcade in Nottinghams Old Markets square is situtaed underneath the Council House. The indoor stores are high end stores and also stores that are located on the outside are also geared towards the higher end ‘chain’ stores. Karen Millen, Morgan etc. The ‘Exchange Arcarde’ Is worth a visit if only to admire its beauty, The Council house is a stunning building. The front of the building ‘the lions’ is a very very popular meeting place for people. Everyone can locate the large stone lions that sit on guard to the council house.

Exchange Arcade is housed in the Council house on Nottingham’s Old Market Square the building is stunning both inside and out and it’s worth a wander through just to look up at the building. It’s especially nice at Christmas when they have a large tree which makes place feel really festive. Most of the shops only cater for women who spend a lot on clothes with names like Jaeger and Ghost having stores here. There is also a great little homewear and gift shop called atomic which is good if you’re looking for something a little unusual, they also sell a good selection of cards and giftwrap.

This is a beautiful shopping centre and is really well kept. It looks particularly amazing at Christmas as the decorations always look stunning. I do find myself just walking through it for no reason at Christmas time to look at the tree! The shops in there are the high end of the High Street, Oasis, Karen Millen, Ghost, Kookai etc so you need to have a bit of cash to shop til you drop in there, but if you have, it’s a lovely place to wander around. It is quite small and compact, as are the shops within it, but I like the intimacy of it and it saves your legs! There is also a couple of independent shops in there including a great art shop with some gorgeous paintings in, again a little pricey but nice to go and dream sometimes!

This is a beautiful shopping centre within the walls of the council house itself. Excellent shops for those with large, deep pockets — fashion and designer shops along with some more standard high street retailers, there’s always something for you to stop and have a look at.
There are a couple of galleries, which always have interesting stuff in, although the prices make me run away usually!
At Christmas, they have the prettiest, largest Christmas tree in Nottingham, towering up at the cross point of the arcade. It really is worth a visit in December, and I make a point of using the arcade as a cut through — it also gets you out of the wind and rain for a few minutes!

Exceptionally beautiful little shopping arcade right in the heart of Nottingham, check out the jaw-dropping tree and decorations around Christmas time, really spectacular. Nice range of shops, Oasis is a bit small but very friendly, Karen Millen always has gorgeous, gorgeous things and there are other great little boutiques and arty shops.

A great variety of clothes shops to walk through, but must admit I sometimes miss it totally unless I am heading through there. I like Oasis and Kookai, Karen Millen and just on the outside is Crabtree & Evelyn, thats a great shop. Ooo must do a review.
