The Lansdown Hotel & Confrence Centre

Having read the reviews I was expecting the worst-​and wasn’t disappointed, it was even grimmer. Having got to my room in the ancient cage door lift which landed with a jolt as though you would fall through the lift shaft I then descended rapidly again once I reached the vile smelling corridor and my smoke filled smelly room. The receptionist was pleasant and amiably changed my room while another guest asked for some clean towels as his were stained. The carpet was stained, the ceilings stained from a series of leaks, the doors and walls scratched and dirty. The overheated rooms had no controls and the window was broken so i couldn’t open it for air. Yes it is like Fawlty Towers-​every picture is angled rather than straight and the longer you look the worse the room gets. Shame because the staff are kind and likely embarrassed by the owners lack of care.

This ranks amongst the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. This was not a tired hotel, it’s way tool ate for that. Too many bad things to list. Why do I have to award one star?
