Merchants of Spice

Bit of a mixed bag to be honest. The building is lovely and really well decorated inside which it should be, it’s not been open very long. The décor is modern and they are obviously trying to pitch at a level of sophistication.
The staff are friendly and well mannered, perhaps just a smidge aloof.
The menu looked really good and I went for a chicken somethingorotherreasonablyspicy, garlic rice and tarka dall. The food arrived promptly and I couldn’t help but notice the disparity in size of the various pieces of chicken. Some were a centimetre cubed, some were several inches.
I called the waiter over and explained that there was no way that this lot could have been cooked uniformly and was therefore not willing to pay for the main. I had an important meeting the next day and didn’t really want to spend it sitting on the khasie.
There was a discussion. (Read: They came out with every excuse under the sun)
Persistance, however, won the day and I had the dish removed from my bill.
I get the idea that they are still finding their feet and, when they do, this could well be OK.
(I still got my free chocolate at the end hence three stars)
