History
Established in 1988.
From the age of 16 I was constantly in & out of the few record shops, & scouring through lots of racks & shelves in the 2nd hand & junk shops around England searching for soul records. In my mid 20’s under the name of Findagroove, I compiled two successful reference /price guides on 7″ SOUL singles released on UK labels between 1960 to 1976
Then in 1988 I was made redundent, so with 3 boxes of 7″ singles, a box of LP’s, a few CD’s & video tapes, CircularsounD was born as a market stall in a little village in Norfolk. After a lot of hard work & plenty more to do, its is now a medium sized shop situated in «the Lanes» area of the City Centre of Norwich.
Meet the Business Owner
martin W.
Business Owner
My name is Martin, I am the owner of «CircularsounD». I have worked in the retail & entertainment industry all my working life. At the age of 16 I left school to work in the catering industry which I did for nearly 12 years. For personal reasons I then decided to move into electrical retail, where I worked my way upto becoming a store manager with a national retailer. In 1988 I was made redundant, but I was prepared for that situation so I got up early the next day & went to the local market, set up a stall & started selling my unwanted records, cds etc that I had aquired over the years.
I have work very hard & put in very long hours to make it a successful business. I enjoy the everyday challenges I am given, and it is usually a very satisfying & rewarding job, especially when you see a smiling customer leave the shop after they have just found that record, cd or film that means something rather special to them. So I hope thats something my shop can get for you.
