Stroll-On Baby

I used the Plymouth branch to buy a travel system using their payment plan and had paid £200 of the total. Unfortunately, at 21 weeks pregnant, my son was born very prematurely and died. A few days later my Aunt went in store to inform them and was told that once I went in I would receive a full refund. My husband went into the store with a letter from my doctor confirming that I had suffered a pregnancy loss. The staff in shop told my husband that they needed to check with the manager and we would receive a phone call the following Monday. We did not receive this phone call so he went back in store and was told that the owner needed to ‘verify’ the letter from my doctor.
I emailed the owner as I felt uncomfortable and unhappy with this, and was certain that my doctor would not give the store any information due to confidentiality. The response I received was less than satisfactory, causing my husband and I a great deal of distress due to its tone and the language used. For some reason Qype are unable to verify factual statements when someone else claims that something in a review is non-​factual. Therefore I have been forced to remove why exactly we found this email so deplorable.
Eventually I was able to receive a refund but only after allowing a photocopy of my sons cremation certificate to be taken. I felt that this was entirely unnecessary given the evidence I had provided from my doctor, and resent that they have a copy of such a personal document.
After I had finished dealing with this, I have posted a number of reviews on various sites. Repeatedly, within a few days of me positing a review another person has posted one stating how good Stroll On Baby were when she suffered a miscarriage. However, having researched this person using one of the other sites, her profile showed that she has actually worked for Stroll On Baby herself.
I have also made suggestions to the owner herself about how she may be able to better handle such situations in the future, without causing further distress to women going through an experience similar to mine and I was simply told that changes in their practices was ‘unnecessary’.

The Plymouth shop is equally as bad. If you shop here you will NEVER get your money back even if the item is faulty. Terrible customer care skills with staff who are totally obstructive and unhelpful, although one lady was very nice. Hope your product lasts because this store will not.
