Been 4 or 5 times. Good food every time, although the décor leaves something to be desired.

This place seems to be going downhill fast, I have been here about 10 times now but the last few visits was not good at all, we had problems on 3 occassions with service and the food order so needless to say i will be taking my business else where form now on.

Went to this restaurant for the first time two weeks ago and liked it so much took some friends the next week 13th January, BIGMISTAKE. Like the week before there was a big table in, unlike the first week this table was a disgrace and completely ruined the night for not only my party but the rest of the diners. They were actually standing up and bawling to one another down the table and one female ‘cackled’ loudly even when she was eating. Our conversation was drowned out and every diner was turning to look at them, the table further from us said they wished they hadn’t bothered. It was incessant even when they were served food the bawling went on. I have been to quieter football matches. When coffee was served we got no chocolates and no hand wipes this time. The bill came to £153 and when I paid I complained about no chocs etc and was just met with a smile saying ‘sorry’. When I complained about the noise I was met with a smile and ‘sorry’. I said ‘sorry’ wasn’t good enough. I suggested that management could have asked the offenders to be a little quieter as a consideration to other diners and again was met with ‘sorry’. Again I said that it was the first visit for three of my table and only second for us and we probably wouldn’t want to come back but all I got was a smile. The guy paying his bill next to me was saying he deserved a 10% discount. Another guy was told there was nothing they could do as it was a special occasion! Our table was celebrating a special occasion, that is why we were there! I’m afraid if management can’t control rowdiness, then because of people like us, who have told our friends, The Days of the Raj will be going the way of the historical Days of the Raj, not even the very good food will be able to save them, so many other eating places in Gosforth, no need to put up with this.

Excellent food and well priced. Been back a number of times and never disappointed Sunday night special is excellent value and if you can’t finish everything they will give you a box to take away £14.95 for 3 courses, coffee and nan/side dish between 2. Within easy walking distance of Regent Centre metro. Free parking to the rear.
