History

Established in 1970.

Sally Mitchell started out as a dealer in early paintings with a particular bias towards equestrian and sporting paintings. She later went onto write the ‘Dictionary of Equestrian Artists’ published by The Antique Collectors Club.

As time went on she started to publish print runs after some of the particularly nice early paintings that came through her hands. Reading one of her adverts in a magazine John Trickett a young painter from Grimsby approached her with a couple of his paintings. This was an important turning point as it marked the start of the business in it’s current form; publishing and marketing living painters.

Her son John joined the business in 1992 and together with six staff they continue to sell some of the countries finest countryside art.
