Went to a birthday party here and the food was awful. My daughters got a dried up sandwich in a small teacake, with a slice of the horrible processed cheese, no butter and a handful of scabby chips. They could either have a mini milk lolly or a bowl of icecream for dessert. The party bag went straight into the bin, no toys or sweets just a load of leaflets. The play area itself is ok to say it is free entry Mon/Tues, but don’t think the play areas get mopped and the carpet is acky, not good when you have a crawler.

Visited with my son and his two children aged under 4. His glass was covered in lipstick, but when I pointed this out to a staff member, they replaced the drink and the glass. The food was atrocious. Despite being a two for one deal, it should still be edible. My son ordered the ultimate burger, consisting of burger, bacon, chicken breast and onion rings. The burger had hard bits in it, and he couldn’t even bite into the chicken breast because it was so hard and chewy. My grandchildrens meals were cold, but they were the lucky ones. My lamb tagine with rice and a naan was horrible. The lamb was fatty, and the naan was rock hard and like trying to chew a shoe. Not that I’ve ever tried one! It had been folded in half and I couldn’t even unfold it. I will never go there again, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.

We went here when my family came up for the weekend and it was 2 for 1 which is always a good thing lol. The first bad thing was that we had to wait about 20 minutes to seat us as there were 9 of us. I can understand this would be hard but I had phoned up first to explain and they had refused to pre-book a table, I think they should allow people to prebook if a large group of people is expected. A few of us had the carvery, my brother, and parents had the lamb and my brother-in-law had the burger which contained something like 8oz burger meat in it and he couldn’t finish it — it was meant to have been something like 6oz but it was all they had left(I think I have the sizes correct, either way it was HUGE!). The carvery was nice although I would have prefered more meat and you are allowed to mix and match meat if you want to. It took about 10 minutes for staff to come over and clear our table so that was a bit annoying as we couldn’t sit and lean forward on the table as there was no room. They kept walking back and forth or standing at the bar area so it wasn’t like they were too busy to clear it all. Desserts finally came out but they came out at 1 – 2 minute intervals and so we decided we would ust eat as soon as we got it instead of waiting around as some people had frozen desserts like icecream. So by the time one persons had come, the previous one had finished. My sister was last and she waited a good 5 – 10 minutes after the last person was served and we decided to go up and ask. They had said that her order hadn’t been put through so we had to re-order hers. Once re-ordered we were told that there was a que for desserts so she would have to wait a while until she got hers. Another 10 minutes gone and our table cleared, she finally gets her dessert and she is not a happy bunny at all! Food was lovely, the staff could have been better and quicker.

Very good value for money and is a good place if you are fancying a meal out but ain’t got loads of money. Drinks are ok priced as well. I always sit in the adult side of the pub but the kids are always well catered for on the other side. Food is not fine dining but you get good portions and definitely plenty to pick from on the menu. It is a typical 2 for 1 but definitely worth visiting
