Topman

I have always been a fan of TOPMAN its a very big brand around the UK and now the world for pretty cool guys who like nice up to date clothing, the prices are reasonable and are a lot cheaper than the top priced brands and are very much similar, and they do have a great SALE every now and then so look out for those!
All the staff are really friendly and are always up for a chat!

Topman is a bit like Topshop’s annoying younger brother, but I myself have often got along with annoying younger brothers. Heck, my fiancé is a younger brother. Not mine, that’d be disgusting. And to be honest, some of the clothes are pretty cool. For girls too. I kid you not. I saw a very cute lesbian couple shopping in there but I’ve known straight friends to do so also.
For comfy logo tees, fabulous hats and cool sunglasses, it doesn’t matter if you’re male or female, it’s all good. Topman seems to be riding on being in Noël Fielding’s good books as it’s all about bright colours, flamboyancy and being slightly metrosexual, but there’s nothing wrong with that, is there? And the cheap jeans, basic tees and shirts come rated highly amongst my male friends. The shoes might be a little bright and beautiful for your average office Joe but you never know what he gets up to on Friday nights. And compared with its female counterpart, the prices are actually really reasonable.
I personally prefer this branch to the standalone one next to my beloved Swedish Clas, as ironically this one has a slightly larger range. Girl or boy, Topman is top, man. See what I did there? Hey hey hey?

I think I always like the idea of Topman more that I actually like Topman. Whenever I have a bit of spare cash and think that it would be nice to blow it on some new clothes I always go into Topman thinking that I might be able to find something pretty cool.
Unfortunately for me, everything in here is just a tiny bit too trendy for me. Just a bit too stylised.
The other thing that really annoys me is their sizing. I’m a 6’4″ guy, which means I’m basically a pretty big brute. Whilst I’m certainly not the thinnest guy ever, I’m a certainly not a massively overweight heffalump. I’m just reasonably sized, for someone who is as tall as I am.
But absolutely nothing in Topman fits me. Their extra large (when they occasionally have it) isn’t even anywhere near going to fit me, where as in other shops like Gap I can get into a large more often than not. I don’t know if it’s the way the clothes are cut, or what. But they’re just not right for me. Bleurgh.

I have been here numerous times my guy buddies who bundle me up here for opnions! And all the times, they’ve been more than happy with their little shopping experience!
They have fabulous shoes for guys here! Yea, honestly, I love looking at the shoes here even if its for guys, because well, I’m one of those people who loves shoes! They have formal, party, casual, sexy, deluxe, hip, anything you’d want and the prices are so worth it!
I remember being here last christmas, close to boxing day and their sale was crazy! Shoes were going for like 10 quid! Now, things like that are a wild steal! Apart from shoes, the tees, jeans and jackets are also all great and their logo tees are one of my favourites! Like Emma mentions, it doesn’t matter if you’re a girl, if you’re the kind to like t-​shirts, well you’ll love these for sure!
This Topman is much prefered to one inside Arndale, and I don’t really have a definite reason for that, but maybe cause’ this one has better shoes! Anyhow, be sure to pop in here and you won’t have the need to go anywhere else!

Do I like Topman or not? I can never quite decide, as for every random piece of crap they throw onto display they’ll also have a stylish item to counterbalance it, as if they’re trying to create some sort of scale of fashion.
The prices range from reasonable to utterly ludicrous, and the staff inhabit a spectrum that runs from friendly and approachable to downright surly, so I can’t help but think that there must be two different bosses running the damn place, one of whom is desperate to run it into the ground.
Whatever is going on behind the scenes, it still remains a useful clothes shop to have a peek in every now and then, although I wouldn’t rely on it for everything.
