Description

Specialties

The Crescent Pub, located in Salford close to the university and Manchester City Centre, is a vibrant bar welcoming people from all walks of life. Popular with students and professionals alike, the pub offers a wide range of drinks from local craft ales to American bottled beers.

A grade II listed building situated opposite the river Irwell, hosts regular live entertainment events including live bands and comedy nights. Delicious food, prepared in house, is also offered throughout the week.

History

Established in 1860.

The pub occupies part of a row of houses and has its origins in licensed dining rooms which opened in the 1860s. This is a long time Good Beer Guide regular with the widest range of ales in Salford and it also hosts regular beer festivals. Serves homely food at value for money prices (specialising in excellent curries) and a vegetarian option is always available. This Grade II listed building has an open fire in the winter and is very popular with Salford University staff and students as well as with locals and real ale aficionados from far and wide. It is also the proud owner of the title ‘Manchester Food and Drink Festival Pub of the Year 2004′.

Meet the Manager

Gerry B.

Manager

Gerry became the landlord of The Crescent in February 2013. He has since worked tirelessly to promote live music in the pub and has reopened the kitchen (now offering fresh food throughout the week). He has also redecorated, giving the pub a friendlier feel.
