It may sound like a long way to go for fish&chips, but you will not be disappointed. Located just opposite Tesco Express in Bolton Road in Swinton, Sykes’s Fish&Chips takeaway is a family business that has been meeting and greeting visitors for years. When I first came to England, the first chippie I visited and tried was Sykes’s, and it will take something to beat them, surely. The chippie survived the recession, and regularly has people queueing outside during lunch hour. In addition to fish&chips, they offer chicken and meat dishes, liver and onions, and a great selection of pies.
The shop stands next to the road, and parking is available along the road, at Tesco, and a nearby Netto.
