We provide English, maths reading and spelling tuition for 6−16yr olds.

We also tutor children towards the Trafford entrance exams and GCSE’s.

Our tuition centre has been established since 2002 and we are all fully qualified, professional experienced teachers. Both Mike and Jane have taught in the local primary and secondary schools and have been involved in marking entrance exam papers.

We teach after school and on a Saturday morning for 1hour and 20 minutes. Our lessons use paper based and computer resources and our teaching is fully in line with the UK national curriculum.

We have helped hundreds of children improve their school grades and pass the Trafford entrance exams.

Between September 2002 and August 2011 we operated as a Kip McGrath Tuition centre. Since September 2011 we have been operating as Step Up Tuition.

Meet the Business Owner

Jane F.

Business Owner

I’ve taught at a local Grammar school for 10 years and have both primary and secondary teaching experience, a total of 25 years teaching experience.

I am now running the Step Up Tuition Centre tuition centre in Altrincham and Grammar school entrance is my area of expertise. My husband also runs and teaches at the centre.

I am involved in marking examination papers and take on most of my students by word of mouth.

I also help children of all abilities to improve English, Maths, reading and spelling.
