Smooth Cafe

It looked quite smart from the outside, if a little boring, but on entry I was disappointed. The tables hadn’t been cleaned and the place was almost empty. Had it been just after the lunch time rush I could have forgiven them but this was 12.15pm. A rather large menu of the usual lunchtime sandwiches, paninis, lasagne, sausage and mash etc.
The panini was nice but the plate was scalding hot and salad limp and suspicious looking, it took an age to cook considering we were the only ones waiting for food!
The ‘grass’ garnish, as one child put it, did little to hide the averageness of the food. Nothing exciting.

This is a new addition to the café scene or shall we say emerging café scene in sleepy Urmston. As there is currently a new development being built of apartments and a shopping mall the area is preparing for a change of scene thankfully. I had a tasty tosted panini (mediteranian roasted veg with haloumi) a small side salad and a frothy cappachino and I found it to be very tasty and the coffee was authentic. The service was a little slow however I realise it takes time for a new business to get organised and established. I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few diners happily chatting and relaxing.
